If you like dark, mysterious, cavernous places with lots of magic, yet not spooky but
enchanting - go to Happy 8.
It is definitely a rare rare rare gem in Ipoh.
There is 3 different parts which its in front part is their lobby, middle and behind part is cafe while upstairs is their rooms.
Beside the building is the pretty alleyway where you can sit down to have a drink~
It’s at a corner of the street, and it’s a boutique hotel in fact.
There is a story to share with you guys~
One day,Ziu Wei accidentally found this room when she tried to search an Ipoh hotel for her friend who came from Johor XD(why have to say so details xDDD) .
So,she found this from the website and the unique design impresses her!
and thus,
this caused this little girl(am I look little XD) to google and she just know that they have a cafe within!
this caused this little girl(am I look little XD) to google and she just know that they have a cafe within!
The behind part of the cafe.
After taking some photos we just walked into the cafe from behind XD ( Orang masuk depan tapi kami masuk belakang apalah tiga amoi ini xD)
Behind the bamboo.
Caution!!!
Don't forget to bring your fully-charged phone or camera as every part of this cafe is interesting and unique will make you can't stop taking photos XD

Beside the bamboo ♡
It is a long cafe
stretching between 2 lanes with an entrance on each.
So this is the entrance from behind which is locked recently due to some reasons maybe as i remembered that i can passed this alleyway last time with a Malay friend who bring me explore the whole Concubine Lane :D

So of course have to take a shoot! XD
The middle of the lorong.
Look out for the 3D tiger in the alleyway.
With the artistic and
vintage furniture choices.
so after showing you the entrance, let's get started to visit this cosy cafe with Ziu Wei from behind to the front!!!XDDDDD
Once
you walk in through the front door to the dim and cooling interior, you are
immediately drawn to the quirky and eclectic decor.
Each space is an Instragrammer's dream. So enticing for photo ops!
Can you realised the haagen-dazs ice cream?!!
There is five hot selling flavour ice-cream as below:-
- Strawberries & Cream 草莓奶
- Chocolate & Choc Almond 巧克力杏仁
- Green Tea & Almond 抹茶杏仁
- Salted & Caramel 岩鹽焦糖
- Vanilla Caramel Almond 香草焦糖杏仁

They offer an array of food
and dessert, drip coffee, etc.
Here is the menu.
They provide main course,snacks,vegetarian,salad.
We ordered one Avocado fruit smoothies ,a slice of chocolate cake and a tiramisu.
The fruit smoothies are really good, fresh and moderately
priced for quality and quantity in Ipoh.
And,chocolate cake got chocolate cake taste
while tiramisu got tiramisu taste (I think you get what i mean XD )
And when i go through all the reviews about the food and drinks in happy 8,
most of them suggest the hot Vietnamese drip coffee.
most of them suggest the hot Vietnamese drip coffee.
So I think you can try their coffee when you pay a visit here~
The majority of the decor
throughout the cafe and hotel is natural shaped and cut wood blended tastefully
with old-town architecture which creates a really unique feel.
All your senses explodes at this
place.
I think this is one of the attraction of the cafe : the bamboo shrouded dining room where you eat over a fish pond .
However, sorry that have to say however XD, this little water feature is near the toilet.
And however again,it was truly unique and adding to a sense of
being outdoors.
You can have a great time feeding the fish here also :D
The middle part of the cafe after the fish pond dining room.
Featuring stylish paintings, handcrafted, timber furniture and bamboo accents.
I can't stop my eyes
looking and checking around this shop once I'm arrived, mostly of the decoration is made
by nature solid wood .
The premises are in a very old and grand shop house building in the Old Town and the owner is in the wood business.
Evidently, he has saved and stored his best large scale wood pieces to retrofit his 'dream' cafe.
The lobby of this 'hotel'.
Can you spot the imaginative wooden staircase which leads you to their great interior rooms.
All come with free Wi-Fi and satellite TV; some have 4-poster beds and
exposed brickwork.
The front part.
A home stay plus cafe that kinda unnoticeable as too many plants outside blocking the view to the inside from entrance.

As 'ipohian'(new word from Ziu Wei dictionary XD!!!!!!),
we walked by here thousand times already and we thought that it was a home stay but recently we just discovered that it's a cafe actually which started their business since long long time ago.(yala, rarely hang out like that until now XD)

opposite is de classroom.:)
ya,you can spend your whole day here if you are the type of person who likes quiet and dark place like me.
The atmosphere here is damn comfortable as it was not too crowded and you can have a nice secret talk with your loves one here :D
Eherm,pay a visit with my sweetie❤

Sure, they might not have the drizzliest menu selection but considering the amount of creative effort they've put in to adorn a cafe; from the wall paintings, lights, ceilings, doors, the bamboo curtains, where every inch is not spared from being an inspiration piece... you've got yourself a visual feast of a kind, don't you think?
Well,come to the end again~
Thanks for reading and hope you get this article useful, have a nice day!!!❤❤❤
MyeongDong Topokki @ Ipoh Parade

Hi everyone,it's Ziu Wei here!❤
Wanna do some review about this new spot of Ipoh korean food which found at the second floor in Ipoh Parade recently.
Heyhey, less talking some trush and let's get started⟶
MyeongDong Topokki is a concept which was derived from Korea subway station in MyeongDong.
It’s famous in serving you with their main attraction-signature topokki and also their mouth-watering Korean Street Food and Korean Delicacies under one roof.
The front part look of MyeongDong which is near Bella Zia ice cream stall.
and there is around 20 set meals there!
and it's halal so that you can bring your Malay friends lottering here with no worries :D
it's quite crowded that day(Saturday)
*1. Topokki
The specialty of MyeongDong Topokki-topokki.
The uniqueness of Topokki is that all the ingredients are derive
from the royal household.
All available in three variations-spicy,sweet soy or kimchi.
Rm6.80 for a small size while RM10.80 for a large one.
(specially thanks my little bro who bought this for me after i requested him XD)
You can choose from regular steamed cakes or fried ones with a subtle crisp
erm,to be honest, maybe i am not so young already so the topokki is super duper chewy to me and the taste is okokokokokla (well, maybe i have no mood that day and i am sorry TOT lol)
Value meals
Besides that, they did provide customers with their complete hot
meals which laden with a choice
of chicken, beef or seafood with vegetables.
The prices of the value meals is between RM16.80-RM20.80
We ordered the Dol Sop Bibimbap set!
Rice layered with mixed vegetables in stone pot.
(You can choose Chicken RM18.90 / Beef RM19.90 )
actually wanted to order noodles but i am just like a rice bowl that day XD
so,rice got rice taste
egg got egg taste
vegetables got vegetables taste.
With the traditional Korean side dishes like kimchi jjigae, the soul-warming, robustly seasoned stew
every set meal include a serving of green tea
after ordering your food in front, you have to wait for your food at your seat and take your food(self service) at the counter in this picture.
so,i sent my little pretty fairy to take our set meals.
♡♡♡see,my pretty little fairy back XD♡♡♡
lastly, feel free to take some fotd maybe?! XD
Street food Snacks
Besides hot meals and topokki,MDT also showcases a substantial selection of street food snacks – the best bet might be the kimali (RM9.50), crunchy fried glass noodle rolls that convey a moderate brininess of seaweed.
Drinks
MDT sold their refreshing drinks in easy-to-carry bags, cutely and colourfully labelled Chilled
and mildly fizzy, four flavours are offered –
Honey Citron, Honey Jujube, Honey Apple and Honey Vera, costing a
very fair RM5.80 each.
