Wanna start this blog post with what I experience on my journey to be a braces girl..

#met government and private dentist before I met the best one

When I was sixteen
I advised by nurses who came to school to help us for dental checkup to start orthodontics in government hospital
I am lucky that time as they still give me to take the treatment first even the rules is who come who first but because of my serious overbite problem so they give me precedence I think.
Unfortunately because of extraction issue I let the good chance go.TOT
But as everyone knows that orthodontics must undergo tooth extraction so that there have spaces for the teeth to move inward but I don't know it and just follow what adults advised that not to accept the treatment if they need extraction.

So I learned. Adult's advise can accept but at the same time you can search it by Google is that correct or not.
Google every time if I want to know more or understand something.

After few years when I am nineteen which the stage to know what is pretty I just borrow the reason that my teeth is pain to visit the government dentist.

Guess you know the main reason why I reached there

As I want to ask for my orthodontics as well!! XD
As that time still young cant afford 5k of orthodontics cost and government orthodontics only cost RM700 something.
Suprisingly,
after the dentist checked and filled my teeth,
he asked me whether am I willing to go for orthodontics or not and he can write a letter for me if I want.
As the procedure to reach the actual government dentist is a long journey without the letter.

Oh my god that's what I want dentist you are damn friendly and nice xDD
So after that I repeat what I need to do before reach the actual orthodontist..

Guess that I won't be so lucky this time as before that I rejected for the first opportunity that they gave.
And yes,this time really can't buy 4D as I am not that lucky anymore.
I have been put into their waiting list and I have wait them to call me for a long long time around 2-3 years.

Why don't you go for the private one ?
Are you asking me this question?
Yes,after 2-3 years while I am waiting for dentist I already have the ability to afford the orthodontics cost by myself so I decided to go for my first consultation with private dentist.

#bad experience with the first private dentist in my life

It was a bad experience.

This is a dentist who is quite famous as many of my friends or even cousins visit him.
But guess what.
He is really a nightmare or strom and lightning in heavy rain for me.

Not only me, other peoples also face same bad treatment as me.
Bad comments still exist on their fb pages recently when I go and checked what their customers' feed back despite the fact that its been 2 or three years after my case XD



See, I don't want you to get bad service so let's consider my recommendation later!


Back to that,
as I did visit quite many dentists before I met him and I know that due to my teeth bone and chin too small problem plus the gap between my upper teeth and lower teeth is big,
they can only help me to push in my teeth inwards 80% but not 100%.
If I want 100% upper teeth meet lower teeth,
I need to go for chin surgery.
Of course I won't go for surgery as that time I already feel satisfied indeed if my teeth can go in even not 100%.

Let's see what happened next.
After his consultation and explanation about my condition,
he said that my teeth can't rescue (hello is can't rescue you see what he said) unless I undergo chin surgery which cost at least 10k and blablablabla..
I know my teeth can rescue and I understand about my condition but you just explain my condition in another that my case is incurable.
Fuck.
Talk so much as he don't want to accept my case.

Can't rescue.
That time my feeling was like
Lightning appear in the dark raining night  which then break my heart like drama xDDD

#Difficulties always bring you to the best one

.. I felt upset and I complained with my friend who has undergo orthodontics before too. She said that can't rescue is impossible and advised me to look for the next one and she recommended her dentist but because it's too far from my house and it's quite inconvenient if I need to go back to there for monthly adjustment as I still don't have my own transport but need to take public transport to reach there as I don't wish to request anyone to take me as it is my own thing. I am that type of not willing to give any trouble to anyone..

So I start to research and I found the nearest dental clinic which near my house.
Check their website and information and finally decide to go for my second consultation.

#Steps and procedures of orthodontics treatment

Orthodontics procedure

1-  consultation

2- x-ray

3-scaling

4- teeth extraction

5-braces

6-monthly adjustment (thicker and thicker wire)

This time consultation is nice as it is free xD
Before that the dentist cost me RM50 for just only the consultation.
See, expensive somemore bad service.
So you know famous isn't mean it's good.

The consultation was fast and clear. He explained the actual problem of my teeth and told me that my teeth only can pull in 80% and let me know their price and procedure to do next friendly and nicely.

Not only the dentist is polite but the nurses too.
Efficient. Friendly. Nice service!
But what is most important is,
They provide the best quality service at reasonable price.


This is the outcome.
You can see the obvious changes and movement on my upper tooth.
It's like a dream.
And this is what I want since many years ago TOT
Always look at my friend's tidy teeth and it's seem like an impossible thing to have nice teeth for me and finally I did, I go on my own and complete everything by my own , get my consultation alone, go for x-ray alone, extraction,put on braces..

Always remember that you are the one who can only push what you want to be
You can achieve  what you wish if you really thirst of it.

After consultation  I go for x-ray which cost me about RM100 something but not more than RM200.

Dentist need x-ray of your teeth to decide which teeth to extract

And before orthodontics start, we need to sign an agreement before starting the treatment.



This is the first extraction experience of her.
And see how the anesthetic work on my teeth and face.
Extraction is painless.
First week first tooth extracted and the second tooth extracted on the second week.
The amount of tooth extraction depends on your tooth condition.
Normally is 4.
Upper part 2 and lower part 2.
After extraction will bleeding around 1-2 hours (my condition)
Dentist will give you pill if you feel pain after extraction but I really no feeling except my face!
I can't smile normal-->look at the second picture, my face was swollen!!! 😂

Guess the narcotics quite strong as I went for extraction in 9a.m. but I still can't smile as usual even after 4 hours.
But no worry as it will slowly and slowly recover when 5 or 6 p.m.

This is the first day I put on braces and the latest teeth profile of mine, magiccccc~~~xD

I am a good girl as I won't skip even one  appointment before I move to Johor xD

Everytime adjustment you will feel the pressure for the first and second day but you will get used to it after that.
Can bite can eat.as usual but.
When it comes to thicker wire, I need longer time around 4-5 days to eat like normal me who always eat with high speed.
You will know that my teeth is pain or something went wrong if I eat slowly xD.

Some people may can't attend the appointment monthly because of some reasons but it's OK for that to delay one or two months for the treatment and I am the example xD bad role model. 🤦‍♀️

Oh yes, if you don't want to wait please come on normal days - Monday to Friday as Saturday will be crowded.
I always will picked morning appointment as I don't want to wait and I will avoid weekend if I can xD

#thoughs and conclusion

For those who live in Ipoh and wanna wear braces I strongly recommend you come here, you deserve it!

Dentist and nurses are nice.
Many of my friends asked me but they are scare to come over as some of them worry that they can't understand English and Malay but I think it isn't the problem as they will explain and try to communicate with you patiently until you understand.

For those who want and still considering to take orthodontics treatment, be brave to achieve and become who you want to be.
Always remember that you are not the product of your circumstances rather than the product of your decision, I did it  you also can!
